See I have the total opposite thoughts on that one. A simple indicator that there is something there on the mirror keeps your attention on that side of the car. A picture on the screen is taking attention away from the actual road and away from the actual blind spot. I can picture all sorts of people staring intently at the screen while driving into the lane anyway! It would be fine if used in conjunction with a regular shoulder check but we all know most drivers would soon just start to rely on it and stop actually looking. Mind you many don't look now as it is so....
