Anybody that goes with a bigger tire and drives on any surface that is not perfectly clean and gravel/sand free is going to sandblast that piece bare of paint in no time at all.
Had the same issues with the skirts on my Lancer GT.

eh but your lancer's skirt is more akin to how the 2013-2020 twins were designed, a permanent side skirt molded into the rear quarter panel and so the skirt that you had was attached on the outside of the skirt as opposed to the new twin where it is a completely removable piece from the start. Maybe it'll catch some rocks, but should be more flush against the body than your Lancer and certainly more so than any current twin with a side skirt..
