The big difference was you had to keep all parts of your body in your lane. If an apex put you up against the double yellow you had to keep your head in your lane. It worked - in the years leading up to TBDRMSAO** (2016) no one in that group or one of its successors ever crashed. It works wonderfully in cars as well. That said, running the "twisted sisters" or the "tail of the Dragon," or the Angeles Crest at "the pace" will still be hard for a number of passengers to "stomach." My approach is to try to be sensitive to passengers' reactions or ask in advance and adjust my personal "Pace" accordingly.
