That would be so cool. I still don’t know why Toyota didn’t try to team up with Mazda for the ND and share the MX-5 platform. At pretty low development cost Toyota could have had an S-FR coupe and Mazda would have the roadster variants. Win win.
The other thing I’d love to see is a new MR2. But not some big, crazy C8 expensive thing, but a Lotus Elise sized one with a peppy and reliable 4 pot engine to keep costs down, like the originals. In the spirit of platform sharing, Toyota should team up with Lotus to reuse the Elise platform. Heck, Lotus have already shown how awesome Toyota engines can be in a proper MR car.
Of course, neither will happen.
