I think I finished the first season? Or only season? Of NGE and I couldn't get into it at all.

My friends who love it said to keep watching and that it builds as you go but I just never felt anything for it. It was moderately interesting but that's about it.

But Eureka Seven had me pretty much totally from the beginning.

I'm assuming a major part of it is that I prefer adventure-genre media more, and the major difference between E7 and NGE is that the crew in E7 is somewhat exploring, going from place to place, and seeing what the world is really like from episode to episode.

But NGE is more about being stuck in one place and cornered. Which I get is part of the story, but it just didn't draw me in the same way at all.
