For what it's worth, I don't like what GM is doing with super cruise either with the subscription service but I have the option to not pay for it, same for OnStar. If I don't want it, I can turn it off and the car will still drive.

On my phone I choose to take the updates after I determine what they are, and what impact they have had already if any to others. I would expect the same for something as expensive as a car.

In the end, I don't like Tesla's business model in general, and don't even really like the designs of their cars. I would take Musk's SpaceX trip to the moon, but i don't want one of his current cars. It's a personal choice though, not a condemnation of what the company does. I

If you're a customer and happy with it, go for it. It's OK if you do, that's why there are different manufacturers. In the end though, I don't really believe I'm "one in a million" that doesn't want what Musk is selling.
When it comes to driver safety software, which keeps the driver from crashing into me, or when it comes to security updates that protect the software from getting hacked, I don't really think these things should be options. Tesla has a right to protect their systems and an obligation to make their cars safer if they easily can, so someone can chose to not update their software, but then Tesla has a right to keep them from using Tesla's services on their network. How would it look if someone crashed a car that could have been avoided with a software update, but Tesla says that it was saving the new features for upcoming cars when it was a simple software update that could have saved a life?

No, just what you said sounded like it was biased, and if I asked a million people if they wanted those features on their car for free then I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only one who said they didn't want them. Like, if the HUMMER or another manufacture said it had an app that did all those things then you might have touted how cool and practical those features are for others and yourself, but since it was coming from a Tesla, you dismissed them as insignificant.
