It's gotten cheaper for sure, but panel size/watts hasn't really changed. Big power still requires big panels.

I think a solar recharged off road vehicle would be awesome. I would love to do something like the trans-america trail without worrying about having enough extra fuel on board. Technology still has a long way to go before that dream can be realized unfortunately.
