Because the SLA batteries we use get recharged amazingly fast. If I go full throttle from 25-75 MPH the batteries seem to recharge in less than a minute. It seems like if you tried to recharge LION's that fast they will explode. I don't know. Maybe they will and maybe they won't.
But it's certainly something to consider before going forward.

As far as my experience, it charged less than 20sec to use boost again
