May also be important to note the color of the bulb is affected by the ballast as well. Bulbs being the same, 5000k using a Chinese ballast will be a different color than the same bulb using an OEM ballast. Lots of factors play into HID setups. I say get a good quality set of replacement HID bulbs in 5000k and you'll be set for what you're looking for in light output and color. You can also swap the projector itself inside your assembly and increase overall output that way but that's for another day.
