It would be awesome if it easily swapped into the 1st gen! Especially for you guys with more power. Are there any common transmission swaps? Like from the STI or something?

what do they have to harden? it is a notchy transmission, much more satisfying than any rubbery and cable operated shifters out there.. are you babying 2nd because you think you're going to break it? i've had mine since new, at 70 K miles right now, haven't changed trans fluid, been banging 1st to 2nd shifts nearly every day without any problems.
