I remember seeing a thread about someone reporting that rubber seals inside the trunk of the vehicle, underneath the carpet and liner were missing or just damaged, which would allow for water to enter. This would create a mushy and moldy smell inside the car. I don't know if someone else has seen this too. Other than that, detailing was a smart idea because you never know how much or how little care was giving to the interior of the car. Swapping the filters is super easy and there's videos on YouTube about it, check out the instructions by ftspeed channel. They got lots of other info too.
