All-seasons are going to be the best choice for a lot of people, the idea that they're no good in any conditions is just wrong. For sure if you know you will be driving on snow/ice during winter months, winter tires are the way to go. But if you won't be tracking the car, and you *might* end up having to drive in light snow, and if tire life is important to you, you're not giving up much if anything in terms of warm-weather grip going with a good UHP all-season vs. a summer tire.
Dollar for dollar they won't.
Put a UHP A/S up against the appropriately priced UHP Summer, and run the same comparison.
