Ok thank you. You gave me a lot of useful information.

As the previous owner of three top trim Lancers (not Evos) I can assure you with 100% confidence this is ten times the car and you will not accidently "drift" unless you are really pushing it. Forget that it is RWD since most of what you hear about driving one is pure myth created by generations used to FWD.

If you've ever driven a rear wheel drive car you'll be fine, because it acts like a rear wheel drive car. Now, mind you that is likely the type of car your Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother drove, without the electronic nannies so even if you haven't driven one, you'll be fine.

If you push hard on the throttle in a turn will the rear-end move? Yes, but so will any other RWD car. In fact, a lot of people use the throttle to help steer in that situation.

Can you make it do really tight doughnuts in the snow? Absolutely and I encourage it when no one is looking.

Can you drift it? Yes, but it has to be on purpose. I've actually drifted my Suburban more than the 86 because I try to drive it the same way as I do the 86. Doesn't work in my favor.

Can you drive it in the snow like a sane individual? Yes. I've even done it on summer tires, though I don't recommend it to anyone, including me. Necessity is sometime the mother of stupidity.

@Tcoat can tell you about using it as a snowplow though, because really what I call snow is mostly ice down here.

With REAL snow tires (not "performance" ones or supposed All Season) these things are a tank in the snow. I have had to stop in deep snow and push AWD cars out of my way to get down some streets.
