As far as not recovering the cost of FI on an 86 goes you will lose that much or more on deprecation on a new car (even a Supra) so it is really a wash.

Correct. It comes down to my previous statement....
however it will depend on your priorities though, light and quick or more luxury oriented and a new car that is in stock form.
