Swapped back to the v3 tune. Still have the dead pedal for another 100ish kilometres but the actual throttle response at 3k is normal like the rest of the rev range now. Ran the v3 tune for 2 years with no issues, might as well keep it on there.

IMO still worth sending emails and contacting through facebook or this forum if you can. OFT still has a large basis of customers in the 86 and miata communities to say they've given up seems odd to me.
