I don’t know if you ever have owned a luxury car, but interior options are about makeups and don’t make it a luxury car. Cheap cars can have power seats or seat heaters or whatever. It is the whole car in its entirety that makes it a luxury car. Everything from the sound deadening, to the feel of the knobs as they turn, to how the lights slowly transition on, to how the doors or windows close, or the sound of the chime, or doors as they lock, the features in the MMI, sensors on the car, to the use of torx bolts...I could go on. Even a basic luxury sports car is typically miles ahead of something like the 86. The Supra might as well be a Lexus, but it isn’t a Lexus in ethos, so it is a BMW luxury Toyota.
