The difference may be that at 3,000 rpm, the engine is in the dreaded torque dip. Not so much at 4,000 rpm.

Something recent actually. I switched from the v3 tune to the v4 a couple months back.
I thought about the torque dip too but i figured headers and an oft tume would’ve completely eliminated that.
