In Victoria that's not an option 3 month rego.

Stamp duty is paid when the car is being transferred in your name.

If you live in VIC and buy the car from NSW. you will pay NSW duty and drive the car back to VIC and transfer it VIC rego . ( in this instance you have already paid duty in NSW and the car is in your name so you just pay REGO cost to change over the plates)
