Seems we're going to be stuck with minimal choices: Mustang (with renowned Ford quality), Camaro (days are numbered and it's a GM) and Civic Type R (it's a 4 door + Si is going away in 2021 but is supposed to come back in 2022 as a 4 door)
Some of the other choices are over 50k:Corvette (mid engine is cool but a bit pricey for a future money pit), Supra (just a rebadged BMW), Lexus ES/RC/LC (barely under 50k if you don't want bells and whistles). BMW 2/4//8/Z4 (lease them/don't buy them).
This sucks.

Just about everything needs to be practical or 'hardy' in the affordable bracket of cars. So it's not a surprise that many automakers are ditching the sporty less practical vehicles, or just simply making them unobtainable for the masses.
There is one automaker trying to capture the hearts of young enthusiasts though...
