Me, for a second gen, I think along the lines of the changes that the Celica and the Supra went through.

Not just some lights and lines, I'm talking body, powertrain, drivetrain.

Hell, look at how Mustangs changed, Camaros, RX7, Civic, and all the other generations of cars that evolved over time.

Let marketing call these small changes what they will, but for the last 100 years, the following model generation was more than a facelift.

Anyways, this is my thoughts on the subject, feel free to think what you want.

I'm still hoping for a Toyota IL4 and a stronger gearbox.

We both could be right and/or wrong.

Time will tell
so are the 981 and 982 the same cars?

regarding the 17 86/BRZ that was just headlights and bumpers. if the Bestcar renders are accurate they will be new changes under the hood with a 2.4. visual wise the lights, bumpers, hood, fenders, mirrors, and trunk lid. less notices things are subtle changes for line cease on the top of the door and bottom side skirt.

were they tho? Camry XV40 and XV50 were basically the same car with reworked sheet metal and dressed up interior. the two even shared the same basic dimensions, platform and drivetrain. the 3rd gen Tacoma's cab and 2.7 were also carried over. the 14th gen F150's frame, cab, and drivetrains are all carried over from the 13th gen as well. i just think the lines are blur these days.

8th gen Accord (2008–2012) vs 9th (2013–2017) i can keep going on with ton of more examples, but dont wanna fill the thread up with more pics. i think we're just going to have to agree to disagree, but you're right time will tell.
