Help me forum, you're my only hope.
Step #21 of the installation ask me to first thread the 180mm stud, shorter threaded side first, into the alternator so that two (2) threads are still visible poking out of the rear mounting point. Done and done.
Next, step #22 directs me to thread the 19mm long coupling nut onto the thread until it is seated against the alternator, thus setting the mounting point appropriately.
I have guaranteed this is the correct stud, and the correct coupling nut (they were actually already threaded together in the packaging).
The problem is: there isn't enough thread on the long end coming out of the alternator to seat the coupling nut against the alternator. There's a solid inch or so of bare stud which the nut can't get to. Anyone know what gives here?
