That's definitely DIY-able. Inline splice, solder and shrink tube and it'll be as good as new.

Also, dealers suck for any issue that doesn't have a tsb or recall. I brought my 2017 in for a check engine (due to tight valves) and they blamed my "aftermarket" "red" intake which is stock for 2017 after just opening the hood and doing no other checks (dashcam).

That was over a year before the tsb was out.
