Thanks @steve99, this will come off as a stupid and ignorant question but please humor me as I'm trying to piece the logic in my head:

I notice that the common answer to fix knock is to always reduce timing to solve it. Now I do get however that reducing timing is a sure fix but would that be less performant which is counterproductive on maximising performance for a given target fuel and mods.

If stock roms are going rich to 10 AFR surely adding fuel to knocky areas would be a better solution? Or... is it because adding fuel complicates things versus just dropping timing?
