To answer your question, it appears that is something you can repair yourself. Just strip back the loom till all the wires look good, then reattach the broken wires (be sure to color match them). Then either solder them or wrap them with electrical tape. Fire up the car, clear any codes and see how she runs.

As far as your experience with that dealership, I suggest you find a different dealership -
