They do get pretty close, once theres a bunch of information and spy shots floating out there (LS and supra had plenty of spy shots, and the concepts FT1 and LF-FC to work with). The IS is probably the most accurate WITHOUT that information, since there was no test mules that anyone saw.
The next gen 86 render they did has too much things that were obviously taken from other cars that i cant really see those being that accurate. Maybe the exterior design (which imo is a bit boring in comparison to the existing car, and also doesnt really follow the design direction of Toyota all that well) could be somewhat accurate if the rumors of it being more or less a reskin is true, since it looks like all that was significantly changed was front and rear fascias...then they just grafted a Lexus F fender vent on the side. Interior wise...just too many things copy pasted from existing cars. Its like they had nothing to work with so they grabbed a generic dash templated, pasted the corolla infoscreen on, pasted the current 86 center stack and tunnel on, and grabbed a Supra cupholder/armrest section and just jigged it aroud to make it work.
