Nope no matter what I did to it the crank stayed rock solid.

but...

When they said to change the timing belt at 100,000 miles they meant it.
I figured I was smarter than the engineers and the belt could last another 20,000 easy.
It didn't.
It blew up doing 20MPH and not even under boost.
That day I learned exactly what they meant by the term "interference" engine.
There were parts of the head in the cylinder.
There were parts of the piston embedded in the head
There were parts of valves embedded in everything.
The whole section of head and valve seats for cylinder two just ceased to exist in this plane and moved onto a greater realm someplace.
From now on, whenever we get people who think they know everything, I'll show them this.

Or not. Maybe a catastrophic event has to happen in order for them to learn.
