Correct. I have always worn a full-face helmet, and there is no restriction of vision. The last one I purchased had a slide down clear and tinted face mask, as well as bluetooth. (yes, I could answer my phone while riding).
As far as traffic, the issue is primarily in areas of heavy, fast traffic such as suburbia.
Downtown traffic is usually not an issue because everyone is moving moderately slow. Divided highway traffic you are mostly all going the same way. Rural traffic about the same. You just have to remember that no matter how loud your bike is or how brightly you are dressed (neither make a real difference) you are riding around with an invisibility cloak on and have to assume no one else sees you or cares about you.
You know, pretty much just like driving a car these days.
