The starter is accessible on this car, you only need to probe the switch terminal on the starter itself with a test light while a helper cranks the ignition, sheesh. It's not that complicated. If you want to make double sure you can always test light the b+ terminal and check the engine ground wire(s).
This only gets complicated if the b+ and ground check out but not the switch signal.
