I did the same thing with my previous car. Cheap chinese crap for my summers (300 tw, all of which have been surprisingly good) then spend the real money on track tires and winters.
That car (E46 zhp) tended to go through 2 sets of rears for each set of fronts (not so much from enthusiastic driving, that's just how the car was) so I often had mismatched front and back. Typical rule of thumb is to have the tires on each axle match (front to front, rear to rear).
Go to a shop and see what affordable tires they recommend (also discuss coming back for track tires, ime they like to attract repeat customers).
