For neglected tips that will work.
Mother's powerball on a drill with most metal polish make quick work of oxidized tips with carbon carbon buildup. Great on polished wheels too.

soapy MF towel with every wash and will keep them looking new. I wipe mine with a sealant every now and then which probably helps a tiny bit. They still look new 2 years later.
