Having gone through a similar problem myself, I recommend just going straight to coilovers if you can. You'll most likely get coilovers evantually anyways, so might as well save money on avoiding all the extra trial-and-error-and-alignment iterations. I'm really happy that my friend gave me that advice before I invested money into any suspension upgrades and just went straight to coilovers.

If you do want the extra steps, you might consider camber plates instead of bolts — this will give you more adjustability, more stability, and less worrying about a camber bolt going loose on a pothole or a curb at the track and the perch cutting your tire. If you do go with camber bolts, use the bottom bolts not top to get a couple of extra mm of clearance.
