If you pick-up an OBD extender/adapter cable, it will probably resolve your issue. That's what I needed for mine because the power pins weren't making good contact.

, cause I was bored last night. I tried desperately, it worked! I fiddled with it, and of course, it disconnects but eventually i made it work. I was so happy i left it in there. I recalled reading something about the bluetooth dongle doesnt use much power can even leave on over night. haha I did that.
I ordered an OBD2 extender. The vendor bought the dongle from finally registered my kit, ProEcu yay. all is well. maybe.
