There is nothing redeeming there that I can see. I also have never had a Twitter account, nor any other social media except LinkedIn and I only have that because it is almost a requirement any more for a job search.

It has gotten just about as bad as Facebook in terms of unwanted solicitations and advertising and I have considered taking down my page. Once I retire, I most likely will.

This site, and a couple of similar ones covering for other hobbies, is as close to social media as I come.
I find FB useful for a lot of things. I have family all over the globe, some of whom don't speak english. So it is easy to see what they are up to and to share pictures and videos. It is also easy to form private groups and organize events without having to call or write everyone. One post and it's all there for all to see. When I played on a national team we had 2 of us out of OR, about 10 out of CA, a couple guys in IL, 1 in NY, and a couple guys in FL. So it was easy to organize travel, practices, schedules, and see who was available for what events.

We also use it at work to keep tabs on customers. We attached their FB accounts for the companies to our contact manager.
