Oh, how about a Leviton. The old one could dim/turn off by turning it or turn it on/off by punching it. The granddaughters "punched" it one too many times too hard.
The new one just turns to turn on/off and dim.
After I installed it I showed the 3 ager that she didn't have to jump up and slam the hell out of the new one - just
gently turn the knob.
So, I put her in charge of explaining how it was to be used to her sisters and ma-ma. She came up to me last week and said that her sisters caught on but ma-ma is still trying to "punch" it -
