Heck, I just upgraded my electrical box about 35 years ago. My electrician that installed it, used to work for Lucas Electrical.
The new one (with fuses) worked fine for a while, till the rats started chewing through the knob and tubing wiring in the house. So I put pennies behind the fuses, that fried those rodents real good.
