go on tire rack and sort tires by size, 225 is for 8's, 255's are for 9 or 9.5's. id keep it narrower bc wide tires are fun-killing and heavier. if you were a serious track rat, id say go 17x9, but the fact that you asked this, id say a 8 wide wheel with a 225 will be perfect for you, as it was exactly what i had and was perfect. UHP summers are the bread and butter category for sport summer tires. ive never known someone to "accidentally" spin out in the middle of an intersection, trying to make a turn (other than snow), people daily 1,000whp R8's for crying out loud, youre not going to get yourself into trouble.

yeah, id go with a 225 UHP Summer, undoubtedly the best bang for the buck.
