These rims have a natural lip to them meaning any tire under 255 will look VERY stretched on them. Just an FYI incase you don't want that look. I am running a 255 firehawk indy 500 on them currently and they are stretched a bit.
The rims aren't too heavy and are definitely usable on track, but imo I would stick with a 17x8.5/9 inch rim with a 235 or 245 width tire for track purposes.
