It worked!!!

So I used a jack to open it up a little after that used some heat.

Funnily enough the new header shipped with a spreader bar installed between the flanges, just a metal rod with two bolts at either end but obviously even the fabricator is aware it can happen over time.

You may be luck and a little force or heat might relax the tubing enough to get it in there.
