Yes it will probably die. There are a lot of systems that create a parasitic draw on modern cars. If the car is planned to be down for a prolonged period either get a tender or unhook the battery. An unhooked battery will hold a charge for a surprisingly long time.
For unplanned there is not much you can do but charge it up well when you get back.

Have it shipped to a relative? Might not be a bad idea to have them start it and let it run for 20 minutes once a month.
