I luckily have pictures of my engine bay beforehand where the pulley is clearly in brand new condition, followed by the pic I just too of it with the big gash in it.

I emailed the dealership but is there any other measures I should take? Because I'm getting a new cover and I will not be paying for it

Thanks in advance
Well, scottryan, from what I understand, if a scratch on your engines pulley cover is the worst result of the valve spring operation, I would consider you lucky.
