I've been through 10 Canadian winters in my 2002 Celica, with the same frameless window setup. I have never had a frozen door/window issue, and the seals are still good even in a touchless car wash. Haven't had to think twice about it...

That said, if you have to wash the car outside in subzero temps, turn the car on with the heat on when you rinse it and then once dry enough drop the windows an inch like you suggested. Same thing after going through a touchless wash, just drive with them down an inch for a few minutes...

LOL to the guy climbing into the 91 GTS through the trunk... I can only imagine watching someone my size (6'4 - 240) try and climb through the FR-S trunk into the cabin...
