About ten years ago I was shopping for a new used car. I was making calls to local shops and inquiring about maintenance schedules and repairs, and browsing used car lots. I wandered onto the local Chevy lot and started walking around when a smarmy salesman started tagging along and wouldn't leave me alone. Just so he'd go away, I finally told him I was looking for a used Japanese RWD coupe with leather upholstery and a manual gearbox. I figured if I over-specified something unrealistic he'd go away. But he got all excited and said he had just the thing, so I followed him to the other side of the lot where he showed me a 3rd-gen Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible with cloth upholstery and an automatic transmission.
They were all FWD with just the very top trims as AWD.

One of the best cars I ever owned contrary to their modern day rep.
