It’s made me almost regret leaving my old job because at least I had friendly coworkers and work relationships established already.

They are probably trying to get a feel for you still. I am sure they will come around.
I am lucky that most of the people at my work have become quite good friends. But it's tough because the boundaries become different then if they where just another coworker and you have to learn to separate work duty and friendship.
