I never understood the traffic argument. In an auto you have to constantly hold the brake, same thing as holding the clutch. you can put either in neutral and ebrake for extended standstills.

Ask people who have injured knees or arthritis and they will tell you that AT is absolutely easier than MT. This has been confirmed by even the strongest supporters of MT. So I think we can say that AT is easier for commuting and the MT is more engaging and therefore potentially more fun.
