My TOB went out about 13K miles ago at 97K. I read through the DIY and said, "Huh, that's not bad, I can do that."
Then I promptly got on the phone to get quotes for other people to do it instead and took it to a shop down the street.
As for your original question, it's not normal for it to go out that soon, but we also don't know how you drive. Clutch wear is dependent in large part on your technique and how many bad habits you have.
