Just trying to see if people were interested in creating fender fins that are similar to the GRMN 86 fender fins. On their fb, Verus engineering (@VerusEric) mention that if there was enough interest, they will consider designing and producing it. Will be made in carbon fiber as I was told.
The GRMN 86 fender fins are essentially made for aero + heat ventilation from the engine bay through the sides from the looks of it.
Based on the old vented BRZ fender trim thread (
https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70815), having a vented fender trim does seem to have some effect on the heat situation in the engine bay. Not sure if having to cut out the actual fender vs just having the trim vented makes that much of a different in heat ventilation.
Even on Eric's previous account in that thread, he did mention that he thinks it should be functional based on their CFD research (
