I noticed a few people were asking about an upgraded bypass actuator. I generally don't participate in forums, but this one thread has provided some great reading information for me when I was planning my supercharged project, so I thought I would provide some info back as a return courtesy.

Regarding the upgraded bypass, I can confirm an upgrade kit exists with a significantly larger actuator. I can confirm it because I have one on my car, a '17 86 AT, and have been running it without issue for the last few months. I've gone from sea level to 10,000ft elevation in deep snow and freezing temperatures several times, and running on a remarkable Delicious Tune (V28.5), the car has been fantastic. Obviously, I don't have any long term data since I've only had the kit on a few months and about 3000 miles.

I don't work for Edelbrock, nor do I speak for them, but they did give me permission to share this upgrade kit information with you to help clear up confusion. If you have questions about the kit, I really recommend you contact Edelbrock directly through their tech line. Edelbrocks upgraded bypass actuator kit part number is 15001 and it is available now. I was also provided the instructions for the kit, which I will post later tonight. Again, I have no affiliations with Edelbrock, I am just an 86 owner passing along information. Thanks.
