Whether these two issues are related I have no idea, I am no mechanic. Is the reason for this issue not receiving as much coverage because not everyone is having this problem as opposed to the chirping of the engine? I'm curious because I am supposed to receive my BRZ next month and I hope this isn't something that is a preview of what's to come with the the car.
I am a little surprised new owners are being leniant about the small issues of these cars. There are chirp noises, rough idle, the other posts about bad syncros symptoms and the guy wondering about putting in better tranny fluid. Really quite unacceptable to have to do these resolutions on a new car.

I hope this idle problem doesn't turn into an epidemic where it could lead to engine damage. There were a few in automotive history. Not enough where that everyone gets it but always a possibility to make people stay away from it. I feel this issue is alarming enough for me to postpone on buying the vehicle.

What happened to the engineering team from Japan flying out to study this problem. Something with the VVTI?
