I think I'm going to do some cone racing this season. The SCCA here has about 20 autox a season at the Boise fairgrounds. When I would cone race in San Jose, all the events were like a 2 hour drive away. That was one of the reasons why I quit years ago. Boise fairgrounds is only 20 minutes away. I won't be competitive with the twin with all the mods. If I remember correctly, just the fact that I have a rear seat delete will put me in modified, but I don't care. Last thing I need is more bowling trophys. I just want to go have some fun, and meet more car guys.

The group I do autox with is pretty lenient with some mods, and dead set on being lame about others. My suspension, wheels, exhaust and aero puts me in A-Mod (low power, rwd, pretty much miata vs twin class) but, the fact I have a tune puts me into C-Mod ("All cars as listed above in C-Stock and C-Stock Plus class with modifications not permitted in Stock class. Also includes any A or B family cars with internal engine and/or boost modifications, as well as engine swaps from the same manufacturer (ie: Honda B-Series in Civic, Nissan SR20 in 240sx)." along with big power cars like euro coupes and sedans, as well as non V8 muscle cars).
I'm not competitive in class, but I have a lot of fun between driving, shooting the shit and marshaling.
