Fun how the term has evolved over the years. If we go back a ways then every single one of us that owns a Japanese car is a "Ricer"

Mid 60s to early 70s - The Harley crowd referred to any of the new influx of Japanese bikes as "Rice burners"

Early 70s to later mid 70s - As more and more Japanese cars came over the term crossed onto them. Didn't matter what make or model or if stock or modified if it came from Japan it was a "rice burner"

Mid 70s to mid 80s- The term got shortened to "Ricer" but still applied to all Japanese cars. Grandpas old 4 door base Camry was "Rice"

Mid 80s to early 90s - The term no longer applied to all cars just the performance ones. That old Camry was now off the hook but the Supra was "rice" to the majority of the North American built car culture.

Early 90s to now - The term "ricer" is applied to only those modification that an individual doesn't like. It no longer even really applies to the car itself but to what has been done to it.
